Gemmen’s Ace is located in Hudsonville, MI and is proud to be your local hometown hardware store for over 65 years!

In 1955 our founder, Al Gemmen, purchased Meyer’s Hardware and changed its name to Gemmen’s. When he took over Meyer’s Hardware it was mainly a plumbing supply store and Al decided to expand into other areas. In the early years, Al ran Gemmen’s with simply himself and a single employee. As Hudsonville grew so did Gemmen’s! Hard work and loyal customers quickly led to a prosperous business andthe need for an expansion into a new store. What began in that new location as a 4,000 square foot sales floor with one employee has grown into 42,000 square feet and more than sixty employees! Gemmen’s is now owned and operated by Andrew Gemmen, Al’s grandson. Proudly in our third generation of family ownership, our location and size may have changed but our mission has always remained the same. At Gemmen’s Ace the customer always comes first. Our philosophy is simple: serve others as we would like to be served. We are not only your hometown hardware store; we are your friends and neighbors and we are proud to know you by name! Over the past 65 years our customers have become like family. We don’t just work in this community; we choose to live here and raise our families here as well.
